*It’s already getting tricky coming up with number-based puns. It’s not going to get any easier as the month goes on.

Well, this is rather fun. Poppin’ Xmas Butter Toffee has got toasted rice and puffed quinoa in it, which gives it a whole popcorny Genmaicha vibe. Unlike green-tea-based Genmaicha though it’s a rooibos blend, which is an excellent choice what with the whole buttery toffee-y taste.
It’s possibly a bit too sweet but that kind of goes with the whole toffee territory. It’s my favourite one so far. Even though it still only ranks as ‘good’ rather than great or fan-fucking-tastic.
It’s funny, when I rank these Advent teas – with the exception of the Mulled Cider tisane on the 2nd which I liked less than the Christmas Cranberry Pie on the 1st – every new tea I’ve tried goes to the top of the list.
I can only conclude that Bird & Blend got 24 different blends and decided to present them in the order that I would like them, starting with the one they thought I would like the least. It certainly explains my disappointment in the first few days.
I am now confidently predicting that the teas in this advent calendar are just going to keep getting better and better. In a couple of weeks time, I am going to be beside myself with tea-fuelled joy and ecstasy
