Yawn Advent Calendar Day 11 – Chocolate Cake
It’s the 11th day of Advent, and today’s tea is Chocolate Cake, a black tea blend. This is the first chocolate tea we’ve had thus far, and words cannot express how happy I was to see it. I’ve been staying at my daughter’s house for the last week and a half, and although I took what I considered to be an ample selection of tea with me, I didn’t bring any chocolate tea.
I don’t drink chocolate tea every day, but I always have one available on the tea shelf, and it turns out that if I don’t have it regularly, I really miss it.
So I greeted this brew with warmth and joy and all sorts of festive bonhomie. Expectations were high, and let me tell you, Yawn’s Chocolate Cake tea didn’t let me down.
It’s a blend of black tea, cocoa husks, cocoa beans, calendula petals and natural flavourings, and it’s everything I could want in a tea and cacao plant mash-up. The cocoa husks and beans tasted dark and woody with no unnecessary sweetness. Sipping this cuppa made me feel cosy from the tops of my ears to the ends of my toes.
Chocolate Cake is going straight to the top of the tea ranking. I’m curious to find out if any of the thirteen remaining teas will surpass it.
