Yawn’s Everyday Breakfast: A little bit special

Yawn Advent Calendar Day 18 – Everyday Breakfast

Today’s advent tea is Everyday Breakfast and I was super excited to try it. This might seem like an over-reaction to a straight-up black tea blend when hitherto Yawn have been plying me with all manner of imaginative tea confections. But it’s like this. Before buying this calendar, my only experience of Yawn’s tea inventory was Ya Brews Mashin, the Yorkshire Breakfast blend. Which was perfectly drinkable and all, but aimed at a target market who like their tea stronger than I do. So, I have been curious to find out what their standard straight-down-the-line, no-messing-about breakfast brew tastes like.

And now I know. It’s actually really, really nice. Which I’m sure is a big relief after all that buildup. I did a side-by-side taste comparison of Yawn’s Everyday Breakfast tea and Twining’s Everyday tea and Yawn’s brew is far, far superior. I’m jolly glad I got to try it.

We had Yorkshire Breakfast on the 9th, and to be honest, that’s probably enough breakfast teas for one advent calendar. Yawn also have English, Scottish, Irish, Birthday and Steel City Breakfast teas on offer. If they’ve decided to include all of them that would cover most of the windows between now and Christmas.

So fun as it was, I’m hoping we’re back to the mince pie and sherry-type flavoured tea blends tomorrow.
