Yawn’s Toffee Apple: Fruity, pointless nonsense

Yawn Advent Calendar Day 2 – Toffee Apple

Day 2 of the Yawn Brew advent calendar! There are only a smattering of herbal blends in @yawnbrew’s advent calendar, so I suppose it’s good that I’ve got one out of the way already. Day 2 is Toffee Apple, a promisingly-names but disappointingly ingrediented blend of apple, hibiscus, rosehip and natural flavourings. What is it about those three ingredients? Bird & Blend can’t seem to get enough of them either. I suppose it’s a sure-fire crowd-pleaser for anyone who likes generic red tisanes. The toffee flavouring might have given it a bit of oomph if it were in any way pleasant. But it’s not.

After yesterday’s strong start, this one is a big thumbs down. But there are 22 teas to go, so I’m feeling optimistic that future blends will be much more fun, exciting, and tasty and that soon Toffee Apple will be but a dim and distant hibiscus-hued memory.

(In case you’re wondering, the kitty in the picture is called Pumpkin. I’m housesitting at my daughter’s house at the moment and Pumpkin was very keen to be part of the photoshoot.)
