I’m very disappointed with today’s advent calendar offering.
After a nice long run of proper black tea and rooibos blends, with this Bucks Fizz tea, we are once again back on generic orange/hibiscus/rosehip fruity tisane territory.
This is not, however, the source of my disappointment.
Bucks Fizz‘s box promised “gold sparkles”. I may have been unimpressed with the tea’s ingredients list but the idea of sparkly glitter in my tea had me very excited indeed.
Friends, there were no sparkles.
There was a bit of funny-looking sediment atop my cup. But nothing that could – by any stretch of the imagination – be considered gold sparkles. I was expecting glitter and I got a cup of un-shimmery watery fruit flavours.
This tea won’t be going to the absolute bottom of the tea ranking list because there are Lapsang Souchongs and things that tastes like Vicks vaporub down there. It’s going to the bottom of the fruity tisanes though. Not because it tastes any worse than the others but because it let me down.
I was promised sparkles. I want my sparkles.
