Oh dear. As regular readers will know, I’m not a fan of Lapsang Souchong.

This tea (aptly called ‘The Night Before Christmas’) is a blend of rooibos, Pu-erh, Lapsang Souchong, peppermint, safflower and chilli. Lapsang might be third on the ingredients list here but once you’ve got it in the mix, it tends to overpower everything else with its lapsong-souchonginess.

I’m not sure the other ingredients are helping here though. My daughter’s least favourite tea in this here Advent Calendar was Winter Is Coming and my least favourite was Fireside Snuggles. The Night Before Christmas is basically a mash up of the two.

This is going straight to the bottom of my tea ranking list which is disappointing finale.

Overall though, I really enjoyed Bird & Blend advent calendar. Sure, some of the teas weren’t to my taste. I’d say the bottom three on the list below were pretty much undrinkable. But the top 12 teas here, at least, were gorgeous concoctions that I could drink again and again and would recommend to friends, family and strangers I randomly met at the bus stop.

Merry Christmas everyone! Have a truly wonderful festive season.
